Driving Change through Technology

PRIME is a global, comprehensive program designed for students looking to innovate, whether by launching startups or driving technological advancements within existing companies. It equips participants with necessary business, technical, and strategic expertise to manage innovation from initial conception to market launch.

Employers are increasingly looking for specialized skills beyond general business knowledge, hiring individuals with relevant technical skills. Go beyond a traditional MBA to enhance your business technology skills in a high-demand STEM masters while expanding your networking community through Brown University's School of Engineering and across campus.

PRIME, a STEM-master’s program in the School of Engineering, combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills for success in the rapidly evolving world of business and technology. Students gain core business skills, as well as career development guidance and networking opportunities throughout the program.

Students come from diverse backgrounds and undergraduate degrees but all share a valued interest in technology innovation and entrepreneurship, the process of creating, developing, and managing a new business venture in an existing field or a start-up. Students are encouraged to explore their individual academic interests at Brown through approved electives; cross registration at Harvard University and RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) is an option for the fall semester.

TOEFL or IELTS Scores: Required from non-native English speakers who did not earn a degree from an institution where English was the sole language of instruction. Recommended TOEFL minimum is 105+ for the internet-based exam (iBT), and the IELTS recommended minimum is an overall band score of 8.0.

Scholarships

PRIME offers some limited merit-based scholarships. These decisions are informed by an applicant's undergrad major and prior technology innovation or entrepreneurial activities given the program's focus. Need and overall cohort composition are also considered. All applicants (domestic and international) are considered. No additional materials are required. Scholarship decisions are made at the time of admission and are final. Please note that scholarship award amounts and types may change year to year. Students are encouraged to explore work opportunities on the Brown campus. Research and Teaching Assistant positions are available for students to apply to.
