Biography

Gaute's AI|ML journey began in the mid 1990s while studying under pioneering Computational Linguist Dr. Ray Dougherty at NYU, the latter an original doctoral student and protege of Dr. Noam Chomsky of MIT and Nobel Prize winner Dr. Konrad Lorenz. Studying under Dr. Dougherty provided Gaute a unique first-person insight into the early histories of modern AI|ML in the U.S, as well as the transition from classical to modern machine learning techniques in the 1990s. With decades of experience spanning Academia, boutique Finance, and esoteric Management Consulting, Gaute later founded IQumulus—a Human-Centered AI|ML firm based in Austin, Texas. 

Since 2012, IQumulus has helped Fortune 500 & Government executives discretely solve their most complex Operations and Corporate Finance challenges through tailored AI and Machine Learning solutions. Gaute is a passionate practitioner of applied Data Science and is a frequent AI|ML and Corporate Finance lecturer at universities and organizations worldwide, including Brown and Oxford. He holds a B.A. from NYU and a dual degree M.B.A. from Brown University and IE University, where he graduated first in class.
